HOW TO JOIN RICHMOND SCOUT GROUP

Contact the Group Registrar, they will put you in touch with a section leader.

​

  1. Fill in a New Members form supplied by the Registrar.

  2. Join in with the Section for a couple of weeks to see if Scouting is your thing.

  3. Let the Registrar know that your keen to join.

  4. Pay on line via Square (2.2% transaction fee applies) or by direct deposit to the Richmond Scout Group account.

We work hard to make Scouts as affordable as possible, a large portion of the fees covers our insurances so our members can keep experiencing exciting adventures. The current annual fee schedule is just $550.

This fee includes a $550 annual fee plus a once off $50 joining fee to cover one-off costs including Scouting scarf, woggle and badges.

Children of fully invested leaders will incur NO membership fees. Leadership is both fun and rewarding, for more details contact our Group Leader, Megan.


A three-week trial period applies for all new members, please note that the joining date commences from the 1st week of the trial period if you continue. For insurance reasons, your child will not be able to attend past the three week trial period or invested as a member of the group, until the full payment has been received.


We never want membership fees to be a reason for a child to not participate in Scouting. Should you have any financial difficulty paying the fees, please contact the Group Leader for a confidential conversation.

A receipt will be issued. Once the fee is received the new member is covered by the Scout Association insurance and can now enjoy all the activities of their Section and will be invested.

INVESTITURE AND UNIFORMS

Once paperwork is processed the new member will be officially welcomed into their section with a formal investiture. At this stage, the new member will require a section uniform which consists of a Scout uniform shirt.

​

Uniforms should be obtained before investiture. They can be purchased online at the Scout Shop Website

​

As part of the investiture ceremony, the new member will be presented with their section badges and a Richmond group scarf.

​

A certificate is also issued by Scouts Victoria H.Q. and is typically received several weeks after all paperwork is completed.
